About Us

Welcome to Peak Gravel Gang! We’re a passionate community of cyclists who love the joy and sense of adventure that riding off-road brings. Our group was started on the belief that cycling is more than just a sport; it’s a way to explore the world, connect with nature, and build lasting friendships.

So whether you’re a seasoned rider or just starting out, this space is for you. We hope to offer something for everyone – relaxed social rides to more technical trails and plenty of coffee stops, we’re all about embracing the full spectrum of the cycling experience.

We strongly believe no one should be left behind. Our rides aren’t about covering miles it going fast but also about enjoying the journey and the camaraderie that comes with it. Our mission is to make gravel riding accessible and enjoyable for all, providing support, encouragement, and opportunities to learn and grow as cyclists.

So what are you waiting for – come and join us!

The Founder

Rhona

Rhona

In 2021 I started Peak Gravel Gang with the aim of making a friendly riding space for those who needed it. It was super important to me that it was female led and focused on making cycling more welcoming to those who were under represented in off-road cycling. I got lucky meeting Jess and Hetty at the beginning without whom PGG would never have achieved what it has.

PGG was always about the people who weren’t sure they could do it but proved themselves wrong. However we found people of all levels wanted this space and really gained something from it. We’ve seen a beautiful range of people!

In 2025 I left and handed over my spot in the organising team. I am still focused on getting everyone outside but now through Rest Days Community which has a podcast sharing stories of healthy adventure.

The Organisers

Hetty

Hetty

I’m Hetty! I like maps, type two fun, dressing like a pack of crayons and a good cafe stop. When I got into mountain biking in my 20’s, I finally felt like I’d found my ‘thing’ and loved how it made me feel strong, both mentally and physically. I’m psyched to be part of Peak Gravel Gang because I am passionate about sharing my love of cycling and showing off the places I love.

Jess

Jess

Heya, I’m Jess! I started riding bikes to keep fit while recovering from running injuries. Commuting and social rides in London got me hooked! I love how far you can travel on a bike, the sense of freedom, the chats with fellow riders, and, of course, the coffee stops! I’m SO HAPPY and excited to be part of this group. Gravel riding is a fun challenge, and I’m eager to learn, develop, and meet new people.

Dave

Dave

Hello, I’m Dave. I came along as a rider on the 3rd ride that PGG ever did. Over the next few years, I started helping with taking photos, leading rides, and now also organising. Peak Gravel Gang has helped me meet an incredible group of people, become a better person myself, and it gets me out on my bike in all weathers. I want to do everything I can to give others the same experience.

Ride Leaders

Our ride leaders at Peak Gravel Gang are incredible! This group is run entirely on goodwill and volunteering so it means a great deal that our leaders believe in what we are doing enough to donate their time and energy. They are passionate about making sure every ride is a fantastic experience and are always on hand to share their knowledge and enthusiasm with others.

We aim to have at least one woman leading every ride, promoting inclusivity and representation within our community. If you’re interested in becoming a ride leader and joining our amazing team, we’d love to hear from you!
